PROJECT BACKGROUND

As part of ongoing renovations at Riverside County Park – South, located in the Borough of North Arlington and Township of Lyndhurst, the existing playground will be updated to comply with standards outlined in Jake’s Law. Jake’s Law, passed in 2019, encourages counties to build Completely Inclusive Playgrounds. The standards, set forth by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs can be found here.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

January–March, 2023: The Bergen County Department of Parks conducted a community survey regarding use of the park and desired additions.

February 15, 2023: The Bergen County Board of Commissioners conducted a public hearing to obtain comments from the public on the County’s grant application to the New Jersey Green Acres Program.
