From its roots as a small community theater, the Bergen County Players has grown into a little theater with a big reputation for quality productions. As the Players marks its 80th anniversary this 2012-13 season, the troupe celebrates its rich history, which includes musicals, comedy, drama and suspense. Robert Sean Leonard, Tony Award winner and star of Fox television’s hit drama “House.” Broadway actress Beth Fowler, of “Sweeney Todd” and “The Boy from Oz,” who also originated the role of Mrs. Potts in “Beauty and the Beast” are some of the now famous faces that earlier in their careers graced the stage.

Throughout the long history of the series, West Side Presbyterian Church has offered a varied palette of solo, instrumental and ensemble concerts in the classical, African-American and jazz traditions. Since its installation in October of 2007, the new, three-manual Nichols & Simpson Sanctuary Pipe Organ has been featured in each season. The acoustically favorable sanctuary also houses a Steinway Grand Piano and a Peter Fisk two-manual harpsichord, instruments used frequently in the series.
