Paramus, NJ – Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco III along with the Board of County Commissioners and Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella recently celebrated the installation of new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Bergen County Administrative Complex in Hackensack. With the installation of the new chargers, the County increases its total charging footprint by 40 percent with the capacity to accommodate 16 additional cars. In total, Bergen County has installed 37 electric vehicle charging stations at County facilities over the last four years.

On the installation of the new chargers, County Executive Jim Tedesco stated, "As we continue to expand our electric vehicle charging capacity, my administration reaffirms its commitment to building a more sustainable future. By enhancing EV infrastructure and embracing alternative fuel vehicles, we're driving Bergen County toward a cleaner, greener tomorrow."

"Continuing our transition to electric vehicles is a crucial step in promoting sustainable transportation, said Commissioner Chairman Tom Sullivan. "By installing new electric vehicle charging stations at county facilities, we not only encourage the use of electric vehicles, but also provide convenient and accessible charging infrastructure for our employees and visitors."

The County of Bergen now has EV chargers at the following facilities:

  • One and Two Bergen County Plaza parking garages in Hackensack (fleet and public charging)
  • Van Saun County Park (public charging)
  • Overpeck County Park (public charging)
  • Bergen County Annex Complex, Paramus (fleet charging only)
