MEDIA ADVISORY – MAHWAH – TUESDAY

COUNTY TO CELEBRATE COMPLETION OF LAW AND PUBLIC SAFETY INSTITUTE MODERNIZATION PROJECT

What:  Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco and the Board of County Commissioners invite the media to attend a dedication ceremony to mark the completion of the Law and Public Safety Institute (LPSI) modernization project.

Breaking ground in June 2021, the LPSI modernization project was constructed in two-phases, the first of which was complete in October 2022 and features a two-story training mall and a new four-story fire training building equipped with nine propane fire simulators. The second phase, which is now complete, features a two story mixed-use commercial and residential structure equipped with five additional fire simulators and a two-story residential structure with an attached garage to teach fire academy trainees how to respond to class-A fire materials.

Further bolstering the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute’s credentials as a world class training facility, the completion of the LPSI modernization project will support cross disciplinary training for firefighters, law enforcement, and emergency medical services to ensure they are prepared to adapt in a constantly changing public safety environment.
