About the Junior Commission on the Status of Women:
The JCOSW was established as an extension of the Bergen County Commission on the Status of Women (COSW). Since 1975,COSW has been a vital bridge between government and community, advocating for women’s rights and empowerment. In the same spirit, JCOSW offers rising seniors a chance to engage with critical issues affecting women of all ages.

The Department of Human Services was established in 1987 to provide services in support of individuals and families. A skilled professional staff works within six divisions to provide services that include clinical, residential, and correction services for youth, coordination of child care, domestic violence intervention, information and referral, counseling, and assistance. The department also contracts with over 50 community-based agencies to provide specialized services to residents in need.
