New Law - Voting Rights Restored for Individuals on Probation or Parole

New Jersey State Governor, Phil Murphy, signed Assembly Bill 5823 into law as L.2019, c.270 on December 18, 2019.

Effective March 17, 2020 the law removes prohibition on voting by persons convicted of indictable offense who are on parole or probation.

Individuals who are or have been on parole or probation, must complete a New Jersey Voter Registration Application.  Once the Voter Registration Application is received by the Bergen County Superintendent of Elections, the voter will be processed.

Any questions concerning voter requirements may contact Superintendent of Elections Office.
