Pursuant
tho
the
federal
“Help
America
Vote
Act
of
2002"
(HAVA),
if
you
registered
to
vote
by
mail in
your
county
after
January
1,
2003,
and
never
voted
in
a
federal
election
in
the
county,
you
were
required
to
provide
identification
to
the
Commissioner
of
Registration. If
you
did
not
provide
identification
to
the
county
Commissioner
or
if
the
ID
information
could
not
be
verified
(i.e.:
your
driver’s
license
number
or
the
last
four
digits
of
your
social
security
number),
you
can
send
a
copy
of
the
required
identification
information
listed
below,
prior
to
the
election,

SCHOOL
ELECTIONS
HELD?
Annual
school
elections
are
held
the
third
Tuesday
in
April.
They
are
non-partisan
elections
to
elect
members
of
the
Boards
of
Education
and
to
approve
the
proposed
school
budgets.
You
must
be
a
registered
voter
to
vote
in
school
board
elections.
The
law
state
that
polling
hours
may
vary
in
each
school
district,
but
they
must
be
open
between
the
hours
of
5:00PM
and
9:00PM.

MUNICIPAL
ELECTIONS
HELD?
Municipal
elections
are
held
at
the
same
time
as
the
General
election
in
November,
except
for
municipalities
with
a
nonpartisan
form
of
government.
The
polls
are
open
from
6:00AM
to
8:00PM.
PROVISIONAL
BALLOT
A
Provisional
Ballot
voter
is
a
registered
voter
who
has
moved
WITHIN
the
county
and
his/her
voter
registration
records
do
not
reflect
the
change.
It
is
important
to
note
that
the
former
"29
Day
Rule"
is
no
longer
in
effect.
Now,
a
voter
who
moves
from
one
election
district
to
another
in
the
SAME
town
or
moves
from
one
to
another
in
Bergen
County,
before
election
day,
and
has
not
notified
the
Superintendent's
Office
in
writing
of
this
change
before
the
deadline
date,
must
go
to
your
new
polling
location
on
election
day,
in
the
municipality
of
your
new
residence
in
order
to
vote.

of

If
the

voter

appeal

decision
to
the
office
of
the
Commissioner
of
Registration
for
an
appearance
before
a
Superior
Court
