Description:

Located in Borough Field on Boulevard in the Borough of Elmwood Park, this project is a “wet” version of a dry playground.  Water features are located both above and below ground.  The above ground features are colorful structures that shoot, spray and gush water.  The below ground elements are water sprays, jets and cascades that shoot water from specially designed nozzles buried in the concrete.

The spray ground is controlled by a computerized control system that choreographs and synchronizes the water flow.  A compact storage tank and small filtration system allow for the water to be kept clean and re-used for conservation purposes.

The project was completed in May 2003 and is enjoyed by hundreds of youngsters of all ages during summer recreational and after school programs, weather permitting.
