In
2000,
Borough
of
Moonachie
utilized
a
grant
provided
by
the
Bergen
County
Open
Space
Trust
Municipal
Program
to
upgrade
its
Joseph
Street
Park
playground
equipment.
The
existing
equipment
was
outdated
and
did
not
comply
with
the
latest
safety
standards.
The
old
equipment
was
replaced
with
a
new
modular
play
structure
and
safety
surface
that
meets
both
safety
and
ADA
requirements.
In
addition,
the
installation
of
benches
and
landscaping
was
also
part
of
the
scope
of
the
project.
The
playground
was
completed
in
2001
and
is
primarily
utilized
by
children
ranging
from
two
to
twelve
years
of
age.
