Art in the Park Show & Concert
For nearly fifty years, the County has hosted the Annual Bergen County Art in the Park Show and Concert at Van Saun County Park, Paramus. The show began as a program of the Bergen County Parks Commission, then became a program of the Division when the commission became the County Department of Parks. The art show and concert are free for the public and are made possible in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Approximately 100 adult visual artists are featured in the exhibition, representing the wide scope of artistic diversity found within Bergen County and northern New Jersey. This juried show is judged in five categories with cash prizes in each: Drawings/Prints/Pastels; Acrylics/Oils; Mixed Media; Watercolors; and Photography (Digital & Traditional). The awards are: 1st Place, $150; 2nd Place, $125; 3rd Place, $75 and Best in Show, $500.

An afternoon concert is presented at the show from about noon-on. Some of recent notable groups are the Reggie Pittman Quintet, the Lauren Hooker Quartet, and the John Spellman Quartet. The show is situated in the lovely Van Saun County Park, near the historic Washington Spring Garden and the Bergen County Zoo.

A fun-filled day for all ages, the art show helps the Division fulfill its mission to individual artists. Enjoy an afternoon in beautiful Van Saun County Park while enjoying the work of North Jersey’s finest artists. Van Saun County Park is a wheelchair accessible site. Large print programs will be available. Please contact the Division at 201-336-7292 to be placed on the mailing list for the next art show registration.
