Holiday With the Animals


The Bergen County Zoo is an accredited member of The Association of Zoos and Aquariums

Admission is charged every day from May through October. The admission fee schedule is listed below.

Senior (62 and up) / Disabled $1 $2
Active Military Free Free

In July and August, live animal shows are held daily in our outdoor amphitheater – between the spider monkey and alligator exhibits.

Shows are free with zoo admission, and seating is first-come, first-served. Check out the shows of the day as you enter the zoo.

Train / Carousel
Train and carousel operate from April 17  through October every day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the following exceptions:
  • The train is closed Mondays
  • The carousel is closed Tuesday mornings
  • Both rides will be closed on April 20 & 21, and then resume regular schedule 

Tickets are $1.50 person.

Pony Rides
Pony rides operate from April through October.

The zoo will be open till 8 pm, Thursday evenings during the months of July and August.

Periodic closures occur due to inclement weather or special event preparation.
