Who We Are

The Bergen County Department of Health Services operates a TB/Chest Clinic for Bergen County residents.

What We Do 

Nurses and public health representatives provide the following services to eligible residents:

  • TB case management
  • Consultation with physician including ongoing medical care for TB if eligible
  • Free TB medications and treatment
  • Screening, testing and treatment of contacts
  • Directly Observed Therapy (DOT)

Are You Eligible?

  • Suspected or confirmed TB cases who have active disease, regardless of the site of disease
  • Contacts to cases of clinically active tuberculosis
  • Immigrants or refugees with abnormal chest x-rays
  • Students with positive results on tuberculosis skin test or blood test AND tested under the NJ school mandated guidelines. 

Routine TB testing and follow up exams are NOT available through the BCDHS for employment, college, technical or vocational school purposes.
