
Biography & 2011 Freeholder Committee and Board Representatives
John Driscoll Jr. was elected to the Board of Chosen Freeholders in November 2009 and was sworn in on January 6, 2010. On January 1, 2011 Freeholder Driscoll was sworn in as Chairman of the Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
As a lifelong resident of Bergen County, John Driscoll is committed to providing the best for all our communities across the county. As a resident, taxpayer and father of three, he understands the everyday difficulties our communities face. John is committed to maintaining services for all residents and will look for opportunities to enhance programs currently in place.
John is a proud product of the Little Ferry School System, a graduate from Bergen Catholic High School ('82) and an alumnus of Bergen Community College with a degree in Business Administration.
Volunteerism runs deep in John's family. He believes to be a good public servant you must think of others first and make informed and compassionate decisions. He is a Paramus Elk, a 3rd degree Knight of the Father Waters Chapter of the Knights of Columbus in Paramus. John is a softball coach in the Paramus Recreation for his daughter and assists coaching in his sons' Challenger League. He also is a former member of the Washington South Special Services PTO, and a current member of his children's school's PTA.
Chairman John Driscoll Jr. resides in Paramus with his wife Dr. Holly Wertans-Driscoll and their three wonderful children.
