The County Clerk is responsible for
a part of the election process, keeping all land records
for the County and other miscellaneous record keeping
and filings. In the 300-year history of Bergen County,
Kathleen Donovan is the first, and only woman to serve
as an elected Constitutional officer.

The Sheriff's Office is tasked with
maintaining order and security
at the Bergen County Justice center, providing for
the care and custody of more than 900 inmates in the
County jail and assisting local police forces.
