Darlington County Park, with its 178
acres, contains three lakes on its pleasant and convenient location
at the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains. Two of these lakes permit
swimming, while the third allows fishing. Swimming is available from
Memorial Day through Labor Day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weather and conditions
permitting. Please check with the park (201) 327-3500 for the early
June schedule. Fishing, with proper valid NJ license, is available all
year, catch and release rules in effect (ice fishing is not permitted
at any time). The park also includes white sand beaches, wooded picnic
area (bring your own grill), open lawns, new children's state-of-the-art
playground, tennis and handball courts, and a bird and wildlife observation.
Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy walking the paved roadways. During swimming
season there is an entrance fee; however, Bergen County residents receive
a discount with a Bergen
County Parks card. (Camping permits are also obtained here for Campgaw
and Ramapo Reservation.)

Directions
Entrance to the Park is on Darlington Avenue off Route 202. Route 202
can be reached from Routes 208 or 17. Take Route 17 to MacArthur Boulevard.
Take MacArthur Boulevard to the end. Turn left onto Darlington Avenue.
Park is on the right.
