Camping/Hiking Sites:

CAMPGAW MOUNTAIN RESERVATION

Hiking is available along the marked trails in this 1,373 acre wooded park. Campsites are also available at Campgaw. Camping permits are required and are available at Darlington County Park, Monday- Friday, 9am- 4pm. Fees: 1-6 people -$10. Must be 21 years or older. Camp season opens April 1, closes November 30, two- week limit per person per year. No alcoholic beverages or narcotics permitted. No firearms or weapons allowed in parks. DOGS allowed on 6 FT Leash. DARLINGTON COUNTY PARK

Darlington is a 178 acre park at the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy walking the paved roadways. The park also offers seasonal swimming, fishing, and picnicking from April 1-November 1. Tennis and handball courts and a snack bar are also available.(Camping permits are obtained here, in the Darlington office for Campgaw and Ramapo Reservation).

Entrance Fees, With Registration Card: Weekdays: Adults $4./ Child $3. Weekends & Holidays: Adults$5./Child $3. Bergen County Seniors $2. at all times. ( Family registration, for Bergen County Residents is a $12.00 annual fee to receive discounts at Darlington swim, Campgaw skiing and for Campgaw archery, you must purchase a permit. Picnicking, fishing with proper valid NJ license and swimming is available from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Lake is open from 10 AM to 6PM.

The park is a wildlife sanctuary of 80 acres with a 2/3 mile woodland nature trail with a stone surface. For physically challenged individuals, there is a 300' boardwalk.

The site includes a waterfowl pond, bird shelters, an auditorium, a browsing library, memorial gazebo, and natural science exhibits. The environmental Center gardens include specialties such as Daffodil Hill, rhododendrons, ornamental grasses, the herb garden, a secret scented garden and various memorial plantings.

Hiking and camping are available within this 3313 acre Bergen County Park. Ramapo Valley Reservation Trails connect to Ringwood State Park and to Skylands Manor and to Spook Rock. For sketch maps of the trails, call 327-3500. Tent camping is allowed in designated areas. Call Darlington for camping permits and rules 327-3500.
Fishing permitted on the reservation / special rules apply. (A valid NJ fishing license is required, no license is required under age 14 ). Cross country skiing is also available during the winter.
