Volunteering
at the Zoo
The Education Department trains volunteers
to interact with zoo visitors, teach classes, and visit Bergen
County libraries and nursing homes. Volunteers must be at
least 18 years old. A volunteer Open House is held in January;
training begins in March and lasts 3 - 6 months, depending
on your volunteer position. If you are interested in volunteering
at the zoo, please call the Education Department at 201.262.3771
x 18 to find out the exact date of the Open House. Sorry,
but we do not currently have a volunteer program for children
or people looking for short-term opportunities.
