About
the Division - History and Preservation
The
Division of Historical Affairs encourages public outreach
and greater participation through the celebration of historic
events associated with county-owned historic sites and history.
It strives to preserve, maintain and promote eight county-owned
sites and other resources, and to promote heritage tourism
and educational programming at these sites. The Division aims
to serve as a resource center for county historical and preservation
research and educational programs, update the Bergen County
Historic Sites Survey, computerize and create a web site on
historic Bergen County, provide technical assistance, identify
and create funding sources for county societies and organizations,
and assure that the Historic Preservation Advisory Board continues
to expand, support and inform the county government.
For
additional information, please call the Division at 201-336-7274.
