In
1998,
a
group
of
Wyckoff
parents
called
the
Wyckoff
Roller
Hockey
Association,
Inc.
obtained
Township
Committee
approval
to
utilize
an
area
in
the
Township’s
Municipal
Athletic
Complex
to
construct
a
roller
hockey
rink
to
be
used
for
hockey
programs
geared
towards
both
children
and
adults.
Since
the
Township
had
no
such
facility,
the
project
received
overwhelming
community
support
with
over
100
families
joining
the
Roller
Hockey
Association.
With
the
rink
surface
completed,
the
Township
received
a
30,000.00
grant
in
Round
1
that
was
used
for
the
purchase
and
installation
of
the
board
system
for
the
rink.
A
second
grant,
in
the
amount
of
28,250.00,
was
awarded
the
following
year
for
the
purchase
of
a
lighting
system.
The
rink
is
open
for
public
skating
and
also
plays
host
to
recreation
programs
as
well.
The
project
was
completed
in
2001
and
the
Township
contributed
the
matching
funds.
