The
Cadmus
House
(1804-1815)
is
significant
as
a
representative
example
of
one
of
the
most
important
American
residential
building
types.
It
is
one
of
approximately
200
extant
Bergen
County
Early
Stone
Houses.
Presently
it
serves
as
a
museum
for
the
Borough
of
Fair
Lawn.
The
stonework
is
presently
in
unsightly
condition,
having
been
defaced
by
paint
marks
and
most
of
the
masonry
joints
require
replacement
of
mortar
and
re-pointing.
Funding
was
used
to
address
these
matters.
