Couples must have a valid marriage license for the County Clerk to perform the ceremony. |

The Bride needs to apply for the license in the town where she lives. If the Bride is not a resident of New Jersey, the license is applied for in the town the groom resides. If both the bride and groom are not residents of New Jersey the license is applied for in the town where the marriage will take place. |
