Permanently Preserved Farmland

The Bergen County Farmland Preservation program began with the permanent preservation of Sun Valley Farm, a 216-acre farm in the Township of Mahwah, on April 26, 2002.

Since 2002, steady progress has been made to increase the number of permanently preserved farms in the county. In less than five years, the CADC has preserved nearly 25 percent of the remaining farmland in the county. Three more farms totaling 75 acres are currently in various stages of the easement purchase program. The farms preserved to date are:
