The shelter is closed to the public on Friday, August 20th

Except for major holidays, the shelter is open 7 days a week. For adoptions, reclaims and surrendering of animals, the hours are 1 pm to 5 pm, and additionally Thursday evenings from 5 to 7:30 pm. The shelter does not accept surrendered animals from outside Bergen County.

Since adoptions take approximately one half hour, we do not start one in the last half hour we are open.
