assists residents who manage existing feral cat colonies with free or
low cost spay/neuter. This service is available to towns that contract
with the shelter and that do not prohibit feeding feral cats. Please
call the shelter for information.
The shelter does not provide
spay/neuter services for owned animals. For information on low cost spay
/ neuter of owned animals, we suggest you contact People for Animals in Hillside.
Usual Requirements to Fix
Unless you are neutering an outdoor stray, most veterinarians require that your pet be inoculated for both rabies and distemper at least two weeks prior to their appointment. Rabies shots are available at our free clinics.
Please check our calendar for the date of the next clinic. Rabies clinics are open to residents of the State of NJ or cats and dogs adopted from our shelter. There is no charge.
