The best way to protect yourself and your family against the flu is to
get vaccinated. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
recommends that everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine
each year. Flu vaccination can reduce your risk of getting sick and
prevent you from spreading the virus to your loved ones. Anyone can get
sick from the flu but people who are at greater risk for serious flu
complications such as older adults, people with chronic health
conditions, and young children should get vaccinated to reduce the risk
of hospitalization or even death.
